Golden's Bridge is accepting bids to replace Engine 139 (currently a 1976 Dodge Power Wagon with a 400 GPM pump and 250 gallons of water). We're looking to maintain the approximate size and capabilities with the new engine. The spec calls for a four-wheel drive, four-door crew cab chassis (think Ford F-550) with a 500 GPM pump and 300 gallons of water.

Some departments have replaced their smaller engines/mini-attacks in recent years, but we believe a small engine still has a place in our firehouse. With some tight roads & driveways in our town, occasional incidents that require an off-road response and storms that require four-wheel drive operations the new engine will give us flexibility in response & operations.

I'm still trying to figure out how Engine 139 is still designated an Engine? If the current vehicle has only a 400 GPM pump and the new one will only have a 500 GPM pump, according to NFPA and the WC desigation definitions, then it should be a Mini-Attack not an Engine!

How come its Ladder 18 not Tower Ladder 18???

Small engine concept is still very important.

This was recognized in Millwood in 1990 when the Mini Attack was purchased.

It comes close to meeting engine specs

Ford F-350 Standard Cab 4x4

750gpm single stage hale

150gal water

25gal Class B

1000 feet 4inch

This unit was purchased when the old GMC which at various points in time was called E-246, MA-10, and once the Lukas tool was purchased it was renamed R-36.

This unit was broken out into the current R-36 Ford L-9000 Heavy Rescue and the Current MA-10 listed above.

MA-10 has been the main fire attack unit at several large fires in the Millwood, Northern Westchester Area at properties that have gated driveways or other difficult approaches. Most recently, it supplied a 5inch line at the Kings College Fire in Briarcliff that was stretched by Chappaqua/Millwood FD by hand aproximately 800feet up the hill through the woods from the draft site below.
