what'r we waiting for?

today in the daily news firefighter jeff cool basically came out asking the fdny what are we waiting for another tragic incident like black sunday? this is in reference to the bail out ropes that are to be issued to all fdny members. Being a friend of Jeff I am asking the same question but to the Chief admin people in westchester. It appears that some depts act like this incident never took place and basically put up the traditional "smoke screen" that is utilized for many mishaps in the fire service that we all can learn from, it is to our benefit that we learn from others. For years many incidents have been the turning point in the fire service to make changes to help us all out. its unfortunate that we all don't learn from others. For those of you that have a rescue rope in your pocket I want to mention something that Jeff said to me while he was in Helen Hayes hospital and i quote,''anyone can carry a rope it something else to know how to use it". Be safe!

Hudson--Having met Firefighter Cool you know how I feel. His voice shoud be loud and clear to all firefirefighters not only here but across the country.

The mesage is simple--protect yourself---know what to do in a emergency--

Know your S.C.B.A.--have a rope and know how to use it- the life you save just might be yours. TRAINING TRAINING TRAINING

In my opinion Jeff shoud be on the lecture circuit passing this strong message to all firefighters. I'd love to have him back as part of the probie class .
