Just wondering what the standard uniform is for all of your agencies.

Shirt type & color - winter/summer

Pants type BDU, Plain etc

Jacket / Permitted outermost garments type & color

Thanks

Mike

Winter: Navy Pants, most wear ESU Pants from Park Uniforms, long sleeved light blue shirt. Realistically, all the above and a navy blue job shirt or sweatshirt.

Summer, same as above, however we are allowed to wear blue BDU shorts when temps and/or heat index is over 90 degrees. Plus short sleeved light blue shirt, and mostly navy golf shirts.

BDU Shorts? I have seen it before but I personally feel that long pants help to protect us from both splatter of bodily fluids and car fluids at MVA.

How do you feel about the light blue shirts , are they impracticle because they show dirt more than nave?

As far as blood splatter, we've worn them for nearly 2 years now and not a single exposure. As far as MVA's we are FF/Medics/EMT's so we have bunker gear if need be.

Light blue shirts, again no problem, many FD's wear light blue. I am not in favor of navy because most persons conceive navy blue as PD. White shirts pick up everything under the sun, there isn't much we do that gets us dirty....unless you don't clean your equipment, that's where most dirt comes from, especially stretchers with grease and grime.
