Most of the EMS Departments in NJ are volunteer, except for the bigger cities like Newark and the like, and the paramedic services. The biggest provider, MonOc, is located in Wall Twp, NJ (about 10 minutes east of me), but provides services all over the state. If you're interested, check out their website at www.monoc.org. Also, if you're looking for a particular area like Hoboken or Jersey City, call the main number for City Hall and ask to speak with the public safety department or someone who can point you in the right direction.

HOBOKEN, N.J. is Vollie world. If your looking for something close to NYC I can put you in touch with someone from the Jersey City Medical Center. There contract re-newal was a topic a while ago, but, they were just awarded a 3 year contract. We work very closely with them and two of my evening tour E.S.U. guys work for them part time/per-diem. Most of their people are top shelf....but its a very busy system. Not sure on the pay scale other than its fairly decent. Another paid service is UMDNJ/University hospital in Newark. Not too familair with them.
