Initial Summary:    Firefighter Chris Roy was responding to a medical call when the apparatus he was driving collided with a tractor trailer truck.

Firefighter Roy was extricated from the vehicle and flown to UAB trauma center where he died shortly after of injuries sustained from the accident.
