Cold Onion Rings? Call 911!

8 posts in this topic

A US woman was arrested for calling 911 after a restaurant served her cold onion rings.

Sharita Williams, 30, of Houma, Louisiana, told police the food was cold when she received it and the waiter refused to replace it.

So she dialled 911 from the Malt-N-Burger restaurant in Thibodaux, reports the Daily Comet.

Police turned up - but only to arrest Williams for wasting police time. She is due in court in December.

Define Irony: The 911 Calltaker probably had some food that was getting cold while he/she answered this woman's call!

Wow, I thought I had heard the worst when I heard a call (I don't remember the dept., but it was Westchester) for someone with a tooth ache!!!

I had that in Buchanan once. Lady called for a tooth ache or some problem with a filling or what have you. Her DMD was around the corner but closed for lunch. We stopped by and told them the situation and they took her right in for an emergent visit. Patient triaged to DLS.

Now I think I found something that beats my old partner giving CPR and heimlic <sp> instructions to help a "baby". To bad Baby was a cocker spaniel and we found out half way through the call it was a dog and not a kid. Was interesting.

Come sit in at any major 911 call center. You'll see this sort of stuff is not uncommon. And, you will see first hand how the system is used properly, and ABUSED by people who are just flat out DUMB!!!

Perfect example. I had some lady call up last weekend, afraid her O2 cylinder would rupture and explode because it was too hot in her apartment. After politely telling her it would probably have to be hotter than the broil setting on an oven to do much damage, she calmed down. Then she explained how her neighbor told her that would happen. I tried to figure out a way to tell her to tell her friend that they were full of it, politely. It's too bad we don't lock up more people for doing stupid crap like this. Especially the ones who lock themselves out and then lie about having a pot cooking on the stove. That's not a paragraph, that's a documentary.
