Happy Birthday US Marines!

1 post in this topic

Yesterday marked the 230th birthday of the United States Marine Corp. They are an intergal part of why we have the freedoms we have today, and am proud to know many former marines who are great people.

Celebrating the Marine Corps Birthday is EMTBravo Network Moderator ALSFirefighter- an ex-Marine himself.

As said by the LA City FD:

The LAFD Extends Birthday Wishes to Marines

The Los Angeles Fire Department is a highly regimented agency that endorses paramilitary command principles. The men and women of the LAFD therefore admire, respect and praise all who have honorably served in our nation's Armed Forces.

November 10 of each year however, is a day in which we as sworn yet civil servants, extend our profound appreciation and well wishes to those who are United States Marines.

The tenth day of November is the Marine Corps birthday, and this year is a special occasion indeed.

Along with requisite reading of an official message from the Commandant of the Marine Corps, the day will be marked by an unveiling of special postage stamps portraying Lt. General Lewis B. "Chesty" Puller and three other legendary Marines at the Marine Corps Barracks in Washington and in Camp Pendleton, ninety miles south of Los Angeles.

As is tradition, United States Marines, past and present will gather in a dignified manner across the globe - including in Los Angeles Fire Stations - to briefly celebrate the 230th anniversary of the Corps.

We just wanted to add our voice to the chorus saying Happy Birthday Marines!
