Can anyone tell me when/why that Peekskill Centenial Firehouse was abandoned?

I heard it was the early 80's.

Numerous reasons:

1. It flooded

2. Full of rats

3. Directly under Rte 9

4. Bay was too small for modern apparatus.

The vollies from that company's nickname is the dock rats.
