Oil Companies

12 posts in this topic

I received a letter from my oil company today it was a letter thanking me for renewing the yearly contract and then I noticed a small packet of K-Y jelly. There was a PS after the signature, and I quote:

“The tube is to use when you get your next bill prior to opening itâ€

I live in CT and was wondering if anybody else (In CT or NY) has received such a letter? Or anything like it?

Be lucky there was no sand with the K-Y.

But yes, I got a similar letter from the oil company I work for. Even with an employee discount, it's expensive.

Estimated heating oil increase is for 30/40% over last Winter!!!!! If any of them will still allow you to buy a "price cap" option, do it !!!

you guys are lucky over in the usa your petrol is so cheap we pay $1.40 a litre here in sydney up from 98cents a litre 6 months ago over in the united kingdom they pay $2.40 a litre while over in the usa you pay only 87cents a litre. What sucks is that australia produces 85% of its own fuel needs but have the price goverened by the world price,i have a 440 mile round trip drive to work for my shift of 4 shifts, lucky i stay in sydney for the 4 days as my fuel cost has gone from $60 to $100 per week, hey i need a pay rise. :(

All i can say is get a wood burning insert for your fireplace, heats the house all day on a few logs! Cuts down on oil and gas prices as much as 35% (we've noticed) just got to get the wood cut and stacked, and no worries if the power goes out.

Buy blankets, find someone to "cuddle" with, and leave the thermostat off!

If your pipes freeze, who cares!!! What the hell do you need water for in the winter anyway - there's snow outside! Bring it in, melt it, and use it for bathing, boiling pasta - whatever you need. If you're REALLY COLD, go out in your car and fire it up - gas prices are so cheap it's like we're stealing from the oil companies.

Keep up the global warming efforts gang, we'll never need heat again!!!

*Yet another great idea from the remember585 presidential campaign.*

Damn right. Set the thermostat to like 50 degrees to keep the pipes from freezing and bundle up. Or just run a bunch of computer like I do and heat the place with electric. :D

To show how NY and Westchester gets screwed on Gas proces. I've been traveling in accross the country on Business, in California gas last week was between 2.50 and 2.60 and that was in San Francisco and also down in the LA area. I'm in Cincinatti and I bought gas today for 1.99, yes 1.99 and it was Shell and there were several stations at that price. No name gas was a few cents cheaper. The taxes we pay in NY and in Westchester on gas are the killer.
