does any one know about the westchester county parade in peekskill??????????

It was held yesterday (Saturday 9/17) in Peekskill.

It was a nice route, from the Division Street area downtown to South Street, on to Washington Street and ending in the Blue Mountain Reservation.

Alot of Departments looked good - especially Ossining with thier 5,000 members. I hope they all aren't playing softball next weekend....

I don't know all of the trophies, but here's some I know of for sure.

First off, congrats to the Peekskill FD, primarily the members of Washington Engine for pulling off an excellent Convention parade! Craig Stilwell & Pat Strang were 2 committee members that i knew personally who worked hard on this.

Second, congrats to all the departments (Fire, EMS & PD), bands & other organizations that were involved in the parade! Everyone that i saw looked great from the rigs to the marchers. It was a real nice day, perfect weather for a parade, a little hot, but not too bad!

Third, congrats to all the trophy winners, especially those who took home numerous ones such as Croton, Ossining & Brewster(?).

Fourth lol, i had one hell of a time at Blue Mountain afterward, and i think i speak for most of us in attendance! It was a perfect place to have the "after-party" and trophy announcements!

By the way, Buchanan took home 3rd Best Chiefs vehicle (1999 GMC Yukon - 2551), as well as 2nd(?) best dressed. Not to sure about the second one, i have to double-check lol. But we definately took home 2!

First off--I believe Continental Village won 2nd best tanker (I believe Brewster brought an engine) as well as 3rd rd best Non Reg--. Putnam Valley took 3rd tanker, 2nd best Firematic color guard, and 2nd best Non Reg. putnam Valley VAC took an ambulance trophy as well as an ambulance corps trophy.

Great job by Peekskill. Only one other comment........Please, please move this event from early on a Saturday afternoon to either later in the day or to another evening. It absolutely kills participation because of the time of day on what has become a workday for alot of people.
