Congratulations to all Fire Departments and EMS Agency's that recieved grant money!

Just FYI....the latest grant that we (Buchanan) received is being used toward communications. All of our officers were recently outfitted with ultra-high band portable radios, as were our rigs. The next step is to get ultra-high mobiles installed in our rigs.

This was money that was much needed and appreciated by our officers and members. This grant will ultimatley make firefighting operations much safer with these more dependable radios. The money will also be used to purchase approximately 50 new Motorola pagers.

WOW - I didn't even hear anything official around our Department. Great communications!!!!

Our money is going towards our ongoing SCBA replacement plan. Many of our SCBAs are well over 20 years old, with some near 30 years. We can only refurb 'em so many times I guess.
