Tamron AF 18-200mm X1 DX lens

2 posts in this topic

I made a post about 3 weeks back trying to find out if any body had news about Tamrons new lens, I just got it and man is it good, if any body wants to get a new lens for a digital SLR, M or AF it is a great lens I like it so far it is made special for Nikon D-SLR's but it is a great all around lens.

I shoot almost exclusively with the Tamron 18-200 Digital lens with my Canon D-Reb . I find it to be an extremly versatile walkaround lens, and I'm pretty happy with it. The only problem I have with it sometimes, and it's not really a big deal, is the slow or sometimes off autofocus. But for the range you get with this one lens, its really nice. It's also a pretty good value. I wanted to go with a Canon lens when looking for a new lens, but they did not have one designed for the D-Reb with the range I was looking for at a good price.

I also believe 901 shoots with a Tamron 28-300 lens. I prefer the 18-200 range, because I need the wider angle when shooting apparatus.

For sample shots taken with this lens, check out my Baltimore/Firehouse Expo shots...link's on the front page.
