Just curious as to what the starting pay is for an FDNY Paramedic, and for an EMT?

Emergency Medical Technician FDNY

Starting Salary $28,900

Paramedic FDNY

Starting Salary $34,850

So the starring salary for an FDNY Medic is only $16.75 an hour? There's gotta be something more to that...that's ridiculous!

Hey, there doing better then the PD. They are getting $12.00 an hour as starting pay. (with the new contract).

I work as a 911 paramedic for a voluntary hospital and our starting wage is $21/hour.

Guys, its not all about the money...lets look at benifits for the employed and their famlies as well as retirement...most privates cant come close to what the public sector has to offer.

Just one hospital visit will pay for it all...
