Car speeds into crowd in Times Square; 1 dead, 22 injured

Man, this is crazy. Seem like he was doing 80+ mph in there. Amazing only 1 person died. It will only be a matter of time  till the video's of it happening will start getting circulated. Probably the most filmed/live streamed place in the world.

What a horrible occurrence. Thoughts and prayers are with the girl who was killed, and all those injured.

 

They need to close Times Square area to vehicular traffic, and/or install a system of barriers (like bollards) to reduce the chance of this occurring again. Something like this can happen so easily., and could be even worse. Imagine if he didn't hit that pole and was able to keep going farther.

They've recently have installed them on what was broadway.  That's what he ran into on 45th street and stopped him.  I'm not sure if they plan on putting them in on the 7th part of Times Square where he was able to drive onto the sidewalk.
