Description:  Master Firefighter Michael Curry, a 13 year firefighter, single father of an 8 year old daughter, died as a result of a medical condition suffered during the rescue of up to 50 persons who went into the river when a ramp to a ferry collapsed.  Civilians assisted in rescue efforts prior to arrival of first responders.  Many persons treated at the scene with minor injuries, up to 30 transported to local hospitals but no serious injuries reported.
