SOMERS, N.Y. - Ambitious plans for a Route 100 firehouse and emergency operations center—seemingly stalled a year ago over the price of land—are back on the front burner.

 

The structure, to be built on the site of the current state police barracks, would also bring in the displaced troopers and perhaps the town police in a single building with the volunteer firefighters, said the chairman of Somers’ board of fire commissioners, John Markiewicz.
