GREENWICH — The only leader Greenwich Emergency Medical Services has ever had is stepping down after a 39-year career in the town’s ambulance corps.

Charlee Tufts announced late Monday that she is retiring from her position as GEMS’ executive director within the next few months, handing off leadership of an agency she helped found.
