Yonkers sending 2 Engines instead of 4 to automatic alarms

3 posts in this topic

I notice recently that only two Engines instead of Four go on automatic alarms in Yonkers

Why is it changed? And is it going to be a continued standard. Procedure? Also do they still send four to high rise buildings, hospitals,  and schools

In my opinion I think it's a good idea.

I'm assuming a ladder is also assigned to automatic alarms...Maybe this is an operational cost saving device, which also keeps those two engines in service for other emergencies that may pop up at that time.

Since I'm unfamiliar, what's the staffing level of each of Yonkers' rigs?

It's two Engines and two trucks and the Battalion that i hear go on automatic alarms

I believe all Yonkers rigs have 4 men some might have 5 at times
