Yonkers/Greenburgh - Marine Police pursuit - 6/24/05

Time: 1945 hrs - 2100 hrs.

Location: Hudson River Between George Washington Bridge and just north of the Tappen Zee Bridge.

Description: Police chasing a suspicious speed boat.

Units: Yonkers Marine 1, Yonkers Fire boat 1, Westchester County PD, State Police, Greenburgh HEAT Marine 1, NYPD.

1945 hrs - Reported Boat in distress in the area of the Tappen Zee Bridge with someone possibly in the water. Was called in by a 3rd party. Yonkers PD Marine 1 and YFD Marine 1 responding.

1955hrs- Yonkers PD Marine 1 has visual on boat, reported to be a speed boat.

2000 hrs- Yonkers PD Marine 1 reporting occupants of vessel throwing beer bottles at the police boat. Vessel is now fleeing. YPD Marine 1 advising they are chasing the Speed boat north bound on the Hudson River.

2012hrs- YPD Marine 1 advising suspect is just south of Croton, suspect is now turning around and proceeding south towards the TZ Bridge going at a very high rate of speed.

2020 hrs- Greenburgh PD notified, Dobbs Ferry 1 Sergeant responding to Hastings to pick up the Police boat.

2027hrs- YPD Truck-2 in Dobbs Ferry, going towards Hastings, Advising Yonkers that they are going to Ride with Greenbergh's Marine Unit.

2035hrs- Boat apparently got away, Marine units stopping numerous boats, they all fail to match description.

2039hrs- Westchester County PD Aviation is in the air along with State Police aviation, canvassing the area.

2048hrs- NYPD Sending out marine units as well to canvas north of the G.W. Bridge. NYPD Aviation also up.

2100hrs- YPD Marine 1 officially calling off the search, suspect no where to be found. All units returning. Aviation advising they will canvas the area for a while.
