Description:  Units initially dispatched to St Casmir Ave for a smoke odor.

 

03:00  Engine 306 advising smoke in the area (St Casmir initially dispatched area). Does not believe it to be coming from the St Casmir Ave area. Checking further.

 

03:06  Battalion 1 requesting 10-30 adjacent to the "Life Cleaners" building, fire already through the roof

 

03:08  Battalion 1 reporting no exposure problems at this time

 

03:09 Battalion 1 reporting building appears to be an auto body shop, 2 buildings south of Life Cleaners.

 

03:12 1 story commercial ordinary, fully involved, hampered by fences all around, also roll down steel gates on structure, (2) 2 1/2 lines stretched, all companies working. Requesting PD to shut down Nepperhan.

 

03:15  Engine 304 being dispatched to 35 St Casmir Ave 6th floor for a smoke condition, possibly related to the Nepperhan Ave fire

 

03:25  Battalion 1 reporting 4 lines stretched and operating, still in the process of opening some doors, making progress. Requesting building department to check stability of the building department.

 

04:00 Battalion 1 reporting main body of fire knocked down, extensive overhaul
