Has anybody flown Song?

10 posts in this topic

Just curious if anybody on the board has flown Song (Delta's jetBlue wannabe), and what they think of it?

I haven't personally, but a few friends just flew Song down to Florida, and they said it was GREAT. Lots of space, TV console with all sorts of assorted TV shows, movies, video games, etc, all the nice stuff. I don't think they give you free meals, other than snacks, but I don't think anyone gives you those unless it is international anyway.

I actually flew down on Song to Orlando last May and It was pretty good... I have flown Delta and American in the past and i guess I can say Song was better... The Direct TV in every seat is definitly the best part of the flight and complimentry free drinks... As long as you can tolerate the trained to be "cheery" flight crew, everything should be all good

I have flown Song to Las Vegas. I is just as good as Jet Blue but with less flights to most cities. Price was also compatable with Jet Blue.

I flew Song from LGA to Orlando every weekend from Thanksgiving until the end of January and at least once every other month for 3 years.... I have to say that they are top notch. Food, service, ontime, decent amount of airports, and they only fly heavy's so seats don't fill up as quickly as other discount carriers.

Jet Blue is good, but they only have 1 route out of LGA... Everywhere else you have to fly out of JFK which is a pain in the back step.

I flew Song two years ago when they were brand new (before the TV's were installed). It's was better than some of the others, but again, it was brand new.

I have flown Song to FL a few times and i like the fact that they put those little TV's in the head rest of the seats. you can play trivia games against everyone else in the plane who wants to play. it is really fun. Also a friend of mine designed the entire airlines uniforms, from ground crew to flight crew. i they don't really offer any food but for a short haul flight to FL or somewhere close they are the way to go

Don't want to step on any toes, but every Song flight I've ever been on they do serve food..... And great food at that.... They don't offer it as part of your ticket price (if you don't want to eat, you're not forced to incur that price as part of your ticket)

What they do is contract with a food providor like the folks that put sandwiches in Starbucks and other places where you need good food, but the staff isn't going to make it at that location.

Song offers, premium menu items like wraps, salads, etc along with typical snack that you can find in a deli from chips to candy bars.

They even mix real (as in like shaken not stirred Mr. Bond) martinis right in the isles.

Maybe I should be a Song marketing officer.
