KINGSTON >> A 19th-century firehouse in the city’s Rondout district will close next month, Mayor Steve Noble says.

 

Noble said in an email that the city-owned Rapid Hose Company 1 building at 85 Hone St. will be shut down by the end of March and probably be put on the auction block.

 

Kingston Deputy Fire Chief Thomas Gleason said the two active members of Rapid Hose are Acting Capt. Joseph Prout and Aaron Bridges.
