FDNY Firefighters Penalized For Accepting Free Super Bowl Tickets

Is this really an issue? Couldn't the city have looked the other way on this?

A Midtown firefighter accepted 52 free tickets to Super Bowl XLVIII last February from an NFL employee, after overseeing street-closures for a pre-game event on Broadway.

They only look the other way if it's an elected official or nepotism, cronyism or favoritism is involved.
