2 Westchester Firefighters Added to State Memorial

ALBANY The names of eight firefighters, including two from Westchester County, are being added to the New York State Fallen Firefighters Memorial at the Empire State Plaza in downtown Albany.

The memorial, dedicated in 1998, honors the nearly 2,400 people who have died in the line of duty as professional or volunteer firefighters. The earliest name on the wall is from 1811.

The names being added Tuesday include those of Mount Vernon firefighter Kevin Townes Sr. and Peekskill firefighter Kevin Bristol.
