Normally, I wouldn't get too partisan...but THANKS and F%&K YOU REPUBLICANS! They stole our democratic process and didnt allow a vote. People will continue to get sick and die while the Senate does nothing.

Not defending the politicians at all but isn't someone who develops a 9/11 illness covered by disability in their agency? Same as any other LOD illness or injury?

No, many people volunteered and others were from agencies that dont' have presumptive bills associating cancers and other 9/11 illness with a LOD issue.

We seem to find money to send overseas often to countries that would rather see us not exist anymore and will find money for thee supposed refugees but when it comes to our own first responders and veterans and our citizens in general there is always a problem. I as a Republican am embarassed and outraged that the Republicans voted in the matter that they did.

I have never understood why any bill regardless of subject ever expires. If something is good enough to pass muster through the legislative process and gets the votes and the final signature, then why does it have a built in expiration date? Especially in the case of an incident based bill like this, where the survivors are a finite number, that is not getting any larger, there is no need for the bill to expire. It would have essentially become obsolete on it's own at some point in the future. Then again didn't we have to repeal a never expired tax a few years ago that was originally to pay off the Spanish-American war debt?

Congress reaches agreement on $1.1 trillion spending bill to include reauthorization of Zadroga bill

Lawmakers also said the package would include the reauthorization and expansion of aid for emergency workers suffering from ailments related to the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks in New York.

We spent three trillion (with a tee) in Iraq and are still spending blood and treasure, how about attention to Americans coughing their lungs up after being assured by the Federal Government that there was no enviormental issues at the WTC site.
