TOWN OF CRAWFORD - A Town of Crawford police sergeant died Thursday afternoon while acting on a tip of a possible marijuana growing operation off Lybolt Road.

Funeral for Off. Meier set for Tuesday

CRAWFORD The funeral service for Crawford Town Police Sergeant Eric Meier will be held on Tuesday, September 22 at 11 a.m. Following the service at William M. Gagan Funeral Home in Pine Bush, interment will take place in New Prospect Cemetery.

Meier, 51, died while on duty on September 17.

In addition to his police service including as president of the Crawford PBA, he was a member of the Pine Bush School District Board of Education.

He is survived by his wife, Jo Ann Schneider, two sons and other relatives.

Visitation will be held on Monday, September 21 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
