Danbury kicks off regional fire school project

Despite the shift, the Danbury Fire Department has been training its force out of a trailer for more than 30 years, which officials said has limited their ability to properly train the city’s more than 200 firefighters.

On Thursday, however, the department took a major step forward when city and state officials broke ground on a new 6,500-square-foot fire school.
