Resolution honoring WCPD Officer Paul DeSousa in recognition of his heroic action

I proudly passed my first Senate Resolution today, honoring Officer Paul DeSousa of the Westchester County Police Department. A Yorktown resident, Yorktown High School graduate and veteran who served in both Iraq and Afghanistan, Office DeSousa saved the life of a young teen back in January by pushing him out of the way of an out-of-control car and onto the hood of his own patrol car. The resoluti...on we passed notes the significance of his immediate and unconditional response to come to the aid of another in a life-threatening situation. Officer DeSousa was struck by the car, but thankfully was not seriously injured. We are grateful for his heroic actions and I look forward to presenting this to him in person
