New NYC 911 Building in the Bronx

Anyone know if this is going to be the primary 911 communications location or just a backup to the the current location?

i believe that is going to be the secondary backup location. it will be manned 24 hrs a day in case the main dispatch center at Metrotech in Brooklyn goes down for some reason.

It will be neither the primary or backup. It will be psac-2

Each 911 center will be designed to handle 50% of the 911 load. If either center has to go off line then the other goes to 100%

Most people are calling it the backup because currently there is only one center

PSAC 2 is planned to host Bronx and Queens FDNY Dispatch, last I've heard. FDNY M, B, and R, along with EMS and PD dispatch have been moved to PSAC 1, Metrotech, in Brooklyn a few years ago. Not sure about the PD or EMS side moving up to PSAC 2.
