Off Duty Yonkers FD lieutenants make save at Ardsley Football game

4 posts in this topic

ARDSLEY The action wasn't just on the football field this weekend at Ardsley's homecoming.

As the Panthers took on the Irvington Bulldogs on Saturday afternoon, an 83-year-old man stopped breathing and went into cardiac arrest after apparently trying to eat a hamburger, officials said. Luckily for him, two off-duty Yonkers fire lieutenants were at the game, saw the man on the ground and sprinted about 25 yards toward him.

Hats off to Lieutenant's Hewitt and Hanney for a job well done. Talk about being at the right place at the right time!
