New Somers Fire HQ's and State Police Barracks On The Drawing Board

Based on credible information I have received from several different sources, Somers Fire District is looking to build a large new headquarters and Somers FD Firehouse on property near the current Somers State Police Barracks on Route 100.

NYSP is looking to become a tenant in the building, with a brand new, modern, and greatly expanded barracks to replace their current Somers barracks. They have been looking at new locations in other communities for several years now, but this project will keep them in Somers.

The bond package will be going out for a vote in the next few months, and construction is slated to start as soon as possible if approved.

No word on what would become of Somers or Lincolndale firehouses or the current barracks as of yet, or what Fire/EMS apparatus will be assigned/reassigned where.
