CT Police panel wary of regionalized dispatch

NEWTOWN -- The town's emergency dispatch center, housed in the police department, was honored last year as the top center in the United States, and one of its dispatchers was chosen one of the nation's top emergency responders.

After such accolades, Police Commission members see no compelling reason to mess with success. Hence their skepticism about a proposal to regionalize emergency dispatch with the Northwestern Communications Center in Prospect.
