Description: Working Fire in a kennel building

0610hrs-Base-5 alerting Vails Gate for the reported structure fire.

0612hrs-Base-5 re-sounding Vails Gate for the confirmed structure fire as per PD units on scene.

0613hrs-VGFD Car-1 on scene, establishing command, advising of a working fire in a kennel building in the rear of the property.

First due T484 (Sta. 2) arrived and took the front of the buildng. It's crew led off with an 1 3/4" line through a fenced in area and to the rear of the building.

E478 (Sta. 1) then arrived, took a hydrant and laid into T484. It's crew then led off with a 2nd 1 3/4" line.

T482 arrived and it's crew went to work opening up and placing ground ladders.

Crews made quick work of the fire and started overhaul. New Windsor PD and Fire Investigators were on scene investigating.

Unfortunately, (2) dogs perished in the fire. However, several dogs were rescued, given aid by firefighters and then transported to a local animal hospital.

The fire was called in by a passing firefighter who was on his way home from work and noticed the glow of the fire from the main road.
