From Hastings Engine 44 Facebook page. I believe it is going to be a Spartan ERV as that is what the dealer named sells.

On March 3, the village board of trustees approved a resolution awarding the bid for our new apparatus to Hendrickson Fire Rescue Equipment. This new rig, scheduled to be completed in about a year's time, will replace our current 1991 Pierce. Thank you to our members who served on the rig committee and spent many hours putting together the specifications for the new apparatus!

Salisbury Mills (Orange) has taken delivery of a 2006 Pierce Enforcer rear mount rescue pumper, which will replace a 1989 GMC/E-One that operated out of the Mountain Lodge station.

Construction has begun on a new pumper-tanker for Sparrowbush. "Custom Fab" body (not familiar with them) on a black over lime Spartan Gladiator chassis.

West Harrison just purchased a new 2015 Tahoe (SSV) to replace 2501. The 2011 Tahoe (2501) is becoming 2502. Lighting and vinyl is being done by Hudson Valley Fire Equipment.

Special thanks to Hudson Vally Fire Equipment for our resent delivery of our new Chief's Tahoe. It looks great, we highly recommend them!

I do not know for sure, but I assume it is the age of the unit?

is there something to replace it or is the tri village solely relying on montrose for a ladder

Well, it's only a 2001, so it really isn't that old.

From what I heard so far, Verplanck is looking to purchase a new tower ladder in the near future. Apparently, the articulating platform they currently have, did not suit their district as well as they had hoped.

Well, it's only a 2001, so it really isn't that old.

that's all relative.

Their are a number of fleet management concepts that show apparatus should be sold before they are 10 years old. This is because of maintenance costs, parts availability and resale value.

Also, NFPA recommends all apparatus at 15 years old undergo a safety upgrade. This rig is 14.

Some of the safety features that might not have been available in 2001:

Sized Seatbelts

Seatbelt monitoring

Anti lock breaks

Automatic Traction control

Stability control

Roll over testing

Airbags

2015 Spartan, 1000 Gallon Tankers, 8 man cab.

Call it what ever you want, but at only 1,000 gallons and no side or rear dump valves and no direct tank fills in the rear and NFPA says that's an engine.
