Description: Several manhole explosions due to underground transformer fire. Area evacuated as a precaution due to possible further explosions. Fire extinguished, elevated CO readings in nearby multi-story OMD's. Numerous residents in area apartment buildings including a heavy population of senior citizens will be without electric or gas for the next several hours. All traffic on East Hartsdale Ave between Hartsdale Village and Central Ave closed to traffic.
