RIP. One of those days in which you remember where you were when something happened.

I was in 5th Grade Art Class at Buchanan-Verplanck Elementary School watching it LIVE on TV.

One of the teachers at BV (Mr. Simone) was in the final round to be the first teacher in space.

Lottery was held and he was not picked. Christa McAuliffe was chosen. VERY SAD DAY.....

Like 9/11 one that I will never forget.

I, too, can remember where I was and what I was doing when I heard of this. Kind of like the Kennedy situation, only I wasn't around yet for that one. Strangely enough, I have very little recollection of the second shuttle disaster.

I was standing in the hall waiting with classmates to get into my 10th grade social studies classroom following lunch when I heard about it. The girl who told us was a bit of a jokester, so we were kind of like "yeah, right". Found out a little later that she wasn't joking.
