FDNY Breaks Ground on New EMS Station in Queens

7 posts in this topic

The FDNY prepared for a new beginning on Dec. 2, as ground was broken for the new EMS Station 50 and Division 4 in Queens.

“For many years, paramedics and EMTs at Station 50 have gone out to make a difference in the community they serve,” Fire Commissioner Salvatore Cassano said. “This ground breaking is the latest great chapter in the tradition here.”

Let's see, EMS was moved to FDNY in 1996 of 1997 with the promise of new EMS stations. I gues in municipal time, 17 years is pretty fast to just start to get things done?

They have opened some stations since the merger. Maybe not as many as we'd like but still.
