Highway Through Hell

11 posts in this topic

If you liked "Wrecked: Life In The Crash Lane", you'll enjoy this show as well. Some of you may have seen Season One on Nat Geo, but the second season starts tonight at 9PM EST on the Weather Channel, and airs every Monday night with repeats throughout the week.

The Coquihalla is one of the most treacherous major highways in the world. Rising through the steep mountains passes in British Columbia, it is a gauntlet of brutal weather and white knuckle driving. The "Coq" is also the main artery between east and west, with thousands of semis crossing every day. Many don’t make it. Jamie Davis Heavy Rescue and Recovery has the daunting job of clearing these wrecks to keep the highway open. Closure in not an option. For Jamie and his colorful crew, winter season is a non-stop onslaught of tangled semis, blistering weather and stressful conditions that would push any man to the breaking point.

Did anyone catch last night's episode? Since it's "unchartered territory", they didn't have fire coverage and had to sit back and watch a tractor trailer burn. Seemed a bit weird to me. They had their own engine to put out hot spots.

What if extrication was needed or something else EMS related? I mean, they had PD coverage. Anybody from Canada know?

The whole crew is still there, plus a couple new guys. His stepson Brandon doesn't want to do it anymore because he's lazy.

Anyone know what channel the rerun is on? Can't find it.

The Weather Channel is horrible when it comes to "original programming" and putting things on when they are supposed to air. They don't even have this show on their site yet. I hope the show goes back to Nat Geo or Discovery. It's one of the most popular shows on Discovery Canada.

My FiOS guide shows it re-airing on The Weather Channel this Thursday at 10PM and Midnight. As the show gets more episodes or viewers (like Coast Guard Alaska), it should air more frequently.

Depending on your TV provider, it may be available on demand at some point, or on Hulu.

Or he's in the gym. That's too bad. The business has to be a lot of work, but it's a family business.

I am just catching up on Season 3. I am a bit surprised that the folks setting up in Alberta don't have lodging; either provided by the company or pooling in together a sharing a apartment. It must suck working and not be able to sleep in a bed. Then again, how many of us have spent their shifts sleeping in the front seat or on a stretcher?
