Went for a ride today to Sleepy Hollow and saw this beautiful Pierce sitting outside in front of the fire station.

colorfull.... question for you, on the PS side, the hard suction, what is on the end of the hose... ??

I was looking at that too, it was a strainer but the screen was in about 4", wish I had more time to spend there taking photos of the Engine and what was inside the compartments but they got a run so off they went!

Indeed it is, I am going to try and get back down soon to se if I can get full shots of the Engine.

Looks like an older, possibly in-house-made low-level strainer to me. I know we have a similar one made of brass for pony suction on E118.
