It is also foam capable at up to 10,000 gpm. Anyone know was this considered or deployed considering the issues with main pressure? (Not Monday morning quarterbacking just asking a question)

It seems the NJ bought 3 of these massive Neptune Systems with DHS funding in 2008 at a cost of over $1M each. ! was placed north, 1 central and 1 south. Each unit can pump at the equivalent of 12 to 14 pumper drafting at max capacity and feed a 12 inch supply line fitted with a multi-port manifold unit at 5 to 10 k gpm at 150 psi.

The specs on the Gloucester County Unit are at: http://www.co.gloucester.nj.us/depts/e/emeresponse/nepsystem/default.asp . I must admit they are quite impressive and it would be a shame if such resources sat idle during this event.

That is quite impressive! I read a little bit about them and it says they are mostly only used for Liquid flammable fires, I am not sure if theyre using them now but it would be a great idea

At PEMO3, yes New Jersey does. They have the Kidde Neptune Pumping system. There are three (3) complete units situated in the state. There is one in Union County, one in Gloucester County & the last is in Morris County. System consist of three basic units. The first in the roll off mounted Kidde pump capable of 5000 - 8000 GPM. The next is the 12-inch hose on hydraulic reels mount on flatbed trucks. The last is the Iron Man monitor capable of 5000 GPM discharge.

The Union County system was in use a Seaside with the Morris County system on location standing by incase it was needed.
