Who is still not dispatched by 60 control?

Actually, North White Plains is dispatched by 60-Control. Once they're toned out by 60, North White re-tones the call from their own quarters.

I believe Bedford does the same. 60 dispatches and then the Bedford base will re-transmit the alarm shortly after.

Just because a department has their own license doesn't mean they are dispatched by someone other than county. Every department should have a license. It's not a license to dispatch, it's a license to operate on a given frequency.

Somers has it's own dispatch center at headquarters but it is operated by Westchester EMS whereas Mohegan's fire dispatch is owned and operated by the fire district.

There also departments in the county who, while normally self-dispatch, will be dispatched by 60-control initially if 60 receives the call.

For example, if 60-control receives a call that will be in Armonk, Chappaqua, Ossining, Larchmont, or Briarcliff....60-control will do the initial dispatch, and then follow up with a phone call to the appropriate pd/fd so they can do a re-dispatch as per normal protocol.

Give it all to 60 control....They are more professional, ok most of the time!! They have many excellent factors to decide as well: EMD, its their primary job, not like the PD's. Wish our Dept. would do the switch!!

Rye/Port Chester/Rye Brook VAC is dispatched by any of the three PD's.

(Rye, PC and Rye Brook PD's share the same frequency, 155.625)

If county gets an EMS call for Rye or PC, then they land-line the appropriate PD for response. Likewise for Rye Brook but they also send Rye Brook FD to EMS calls for some reason.

Although you wouldn't know it- since we've had like no alarms in June.

In fact we are on track to have about 100 fewer alarms this year than in 2004.

A superstitious person would be wondering about that...

Of course there's none of those in the fire service... :roll:
