Scaffolding under Newburgh-Beacon Bridge gives way, men OK

BEACON – Two men working for a painting contractor for the Newburgh-Beacon Bridge escaped injury Tuesday when the scaffolding they were on under the westbound span of the bridge gave way and they safety harnesses they were wearing kept them from plunging into the Hudson.
