Looks like its coming together nicely brother, cant wait to see more pictures as they progress.

Thanks Brian, I had numerous conversations today with the shop, it's moving along quickly, the hopes are to have it be completed for the New England Fire Expo the third week of June.

Is it going to have a light bar on top of the cab or just inside the windshield?

Here is the soundoff signal intersection light designed to be mirror mounted.

Shared from the shop today, a personal visit will take place next week. GPS and backup camera monitor installed on the dash, the intersection lights mounted under the mirrors, the 3000 watt inverter which has 4 GFCI outlets which will also have an external duplex receptacle and will also power the on board refrigerator and the 12" flip down monitor that swivels 360 degrees and will be used to monitor the TIC.

Looks nice. We have an 05 IH 4x4 interface style pumper (rear mount pump though) and overall we love it. Love the chassis very much, and I see you mentioned how the IH is just so ridiculously tall now, due to cooling requirements and needing the larger radiator. At least that's what we were told when we asked the IH rep, when we remakred that the cab just sits so high now. Wish we had 750 gallons of water, and I like how you stowed your ladders. In hindsight, these are some things we'd probably do different after having had the rig for eight years, but we carry an absurd amount of equipment in a nice compact rig with our current configuration.

If we had to replace the chassis we'd probably have to go Freightliner, as they seem to be able to keep their overall height lower. A new IH 4x4 just wouldn't fit in the bays where the rig is currently assigned. I see you're at 119" but our ten foot door isn't quite ten foot with other issues going on...

Can't wait to see the finished product. Sold a unit to a department with a front mount Hale, and you really can't beat a front mount for making room in the body!

With the added 4" of the cab height we went to the inner light bar and some intersection lights as mentioned prior, so our overall height really didn't change. Made a visit to the shop today and have some more photos to share but we got back just prior to having to get ready for work so I will share the new photos in a few days. The front mount design should work well for us, it's our first but we are looking forward it and you are so right on the compartment space, this new engine is replacing two engines so we needed to have more compartments, thus the front mount and custom area designed for the ladders.

I am an EMT not a fireman, but it would seem that the 5" inlet/discharge under the extended front bumper would get damaged easily. Was there no option for placing it in the bumper itself? Just curious..

Measured today, from the ground to the cap of the 5" discharge is 23" and to the valve 24".

Thanks, it has been a long process to say the least from the start of the design, components, placement, approval and now the construction process. We will have a wet down shortly after the delivery for this Engine and the our B.R.A.T. The B.R.A.T has far exceeded our expectations and has not only been used more then we envisioned in our district but has been used by numerous mutual departments as well, Pawling (will be started soon) and Rhinebeck (completed and in service) have purchased a B.R.A.T from Firematic too and a few more of our neighbors are hoping too. Firematic makes the process so easy and working with David Horton and the shop is great, they don't build "cookie cutter" vehicles which allows for creativity with a custom build which for a smaller department makes a huge difference.

I know you went with super single's on this rig but is that were they stay or is there more work to be done . They look a little to far in on these photo's

This is were they will be, we went with a 102" wide body thus why they are in further, same design as the Washington CT rig, I tried posting the link from Feb. 2011 in the apparatus photos section for the Washington rig but the pictures do not load.

A few from the shop, it went off to paint, frame work at the rear of the chassis to support the body, the cut outs the rear of the body for the tow eyes and sound-off signal 12 light LED traffic advisor and the side of the body showing the lower compartment for storage of foam pails, the access door in the officers compartment to the CAFS valves and plumbing and the 2 1/2" CAFS speed lay, 2 - 2" CAFS speed lay and the upper area which will house dead lay of forestry hose, all speed lays will be in poly trays for ease of packing.

Chassis returned after pump painted, the body has been prepared and paint is online to be completed by early next week so we should see a completely painted Engine by the end of next week the build process should move along rather quickly, as a side note the body was removed and taken off site to the Pierce warranty (Kessel's) paint shop and the chassis was returned to the Firematic shop for the re-install of the pump plumbing and bumper assembly as well as interior cab electronics.

Because of the addition of the CAFS the Engine was over $400,000 which I am sure sounds like alot to some of the members here but it is replacing two engines and will be in service for 20+ years

sent from the shop, photos from Kessel's body preparing the body last week for paint which is to start today and the remounting of the newly powder coated front bumper and permanently installed pump plumbing and lighting, we should have a whole painted truck back Friday and hopefully a trip down next week.

Mark truck look awesome just a few questions with going with the inner light bar i saw in 1 of the pics there is a side led light by the door will there be any up on the wheel well with the lights under the merrier also the monitor for the camra is good idea wish a lot of companies would do that my old firehouse had it and it work very well only thing now that you guys got a chief car wouldn't it be better mounted in there so the ic can watch it or is someone on the truck assigned to watch it when it is used just a thought and good luck with it

We just put the Chief's car in service within the last month and the unit is already installed on the Engine, as far as lights, there is the one on the mirror, the one under the doors, one in the wheel wheel area and one on the extended front bumper, we will see how the coverage is and install more if needed.

Some more from the paint shop today, body completed and painting the inside of the compartments with the gray splatter type paint and some other random shots they sent, chassis meets body again in the morning so I should have a few more pics to add, we are headed down next Saturday for our next visit.

Any date for the wetdown?

Not sure of a delivery date still, there has been a few delays along the way so once we actually get the Engine in service then we will set the date to have a "Wet Down" for this piece as well as our B.R.A.T built also by Firematic a few years back. We also just ordered a new ambulance which is being built by Lifeline with an early 2014 delivery.
