It is with deep regret that Major Rodney W. Campbell, Troop D Commander, announces the untimely death of retired Trooper Timothy A. Tyler, age 38, on Thursday, January 10, 2013. Trooper Tyler was last stationed at Troop D Headquarters in Oneida.

Tim was diagnosed with peripheral t-cell lymphoma in January of 2010. Tim earned wrestling championships twice at Canastota High School and was named a Division III All-American at the Rochester Institute of Technology. He joined the New York State Police on January 7, 2002.

• Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, January 15, 2013, at the J. Homer Ball Funeral Home, 201 James Street, Canastota, New York, from 2PM to 8PM.

• Funeral services will be held at 10AM on Wednesday, January 16, 2013, at St. Agatha's Church, 329 North Peterboro Street, Canastota, New York.

Interment will be in St. Agatha's Cemetery, Oxbow Road, Canastota, New York.

In his memory, contributions may be made to the Tim Tyler Courage and Strength Scholarship Fund, or the Emma & Andrew Tyler Education Fund, both c/o Lori A. Hood, 7612 Oxbow Road, Canastota, New York 13032.
