Chimney Fire Prevention

It seems to me that there's been a lot of chimney fires so far this year.

I'm wondering if any department promotes chimney fires proactively, as part of their fire prevention program?

Many departments had "candy can runs" this past holiday...and I only know of one that took the oppurtunity to hand out wintertime fire safety literature and promotional items with the candy canes.

So, if we see a rash of fires that are attributed to one cause in a short period of time, such as the chimmney, should we promote chimney fire safety?
