John Dolce, innovative White Plains safety commissioner, dies at 83

WHITE PLAINS — John Dolce, who served as White Plains public safety commissioner for 26 years, died Monday at White Plains Hospital. He was 83.

“John did a wonderful service for this city, building a foundation of professionalism in our Public Safety Department that we continue to benefit from to this day,” Mayor Thomas Roach said, adding that he has ordered flags in the city to be flown at half staff to honor Dolce’s memory
