The widespread damage is incredible from W.VA, DC, Philly, NJ, NYC to Boston. I was trying to keep tabs using RadioReference, but with so many people without power, most of the feeds are down. Be safe out there. The clean up is going to be a monsterous task. Daylight is going to reveal something interesting.

All units unable to go south of the Belt Parkway in Brooklyn due to flooding. Brighton Beach/Coney Island are inaccessible.

I'm getting spotty reports that multiple USAR assets are pre-positioning within CT.

Flooding and storm surge is being described as substantially worse than for a category 1 storm. Severe flooding all over the city.

High tide on the Long Island Sound in the next hour or two will result in more flooding in Westchester and Fairfield.

Stay safe everyone!

The storm that hit in 1938 was a category 5. Sandy is barely a category 1. I think Hollie needs to check her information. That doesn't sound right at all!

The Cat size relates to winds, not barometric pressure.

Thoughts go out to all FDNY members working in Queens right now. Multiple structure fires with several units coming from all over the city as m/a right now. Breezy Point and Rockaway are the 2 main areas at the moment. TL-124 reported 2 full blocks of houses on fire

Things turned hairy real fast and people got caught off guard AGAIN, when will people learn?? People still refused to evacuate even during MANDATORY evacuation requests, and now first responders are putting their lives on the line for these idiots...WHY? What good are you going to do by staying in your precious home? You cant stop flooding, you can clean up and re-build though, and yet people still refuse to leave when prompted...

Lessons should have been learned in Irene, but obviously they weren't. Im sitting here in the EOC tonight in disbelief that so many lives have been lost and more are being threatened when it could have been prevented by evacuating...you CANT fix STUPID...
