Just for information purposes, and not that many follow the law anyway, (this is in no way reflecting on you personally, Steve),

as published in NYS V&T Excerpt: § 375 (41). Colored and flashing lights.

The "old" V&T law went on to specify that the ONE blue light which was permitted should not exceed 35 candlepower.

I guess portable candlepower measuring devices never became widely available so technically there was no way to reasonably enforce that provision.
