Posting video

How do I post a video so it shows up as a clip in a thread as opposed to just a link? When I copy and paste the clip link from youtube into the thread I want and click preview post, it still shows up as a hyperlink and there's no video clip. I've tried looking at the help section for the site but it doesn't tell me much.

I'm pretty sure the forum software won't allow embedding videos from the web directly into posts here.

An external link is fine, it opens in a new window (most browsers).

I'm trying to get what like Mess did in his thread for the Mahopac Falls Parade. In that thread, there are actual video clips from youtube.

When I just post the link, all it shows is a link.

All you need to do is post the link as provided on YouTube. I edited your post, and it worked. I will look into it further to see why it's not working for you.

That's what I've been doing but the video would never show up. Thanks for looking into it and thanks to those of you who have commented. Your help is much appreciated!

Edit: I think I figured it out. The issue was that I was posting from the wrong link. Apparently we need to copy/paste the link at the top of the browser and not from the share tab on youtube.
