West Haverstraw volunteer to be honored today as firefighter of the year for lifesaving effort

Volunteer firefighter Andrew Kolesar will be honored today as the state firefighter of the year for saving the life of fellow volunteer Kenneth Patterson.

Kolesar pulled Patterson out of a Haverstraw village building after Patterson had collapsed when his air pack ran out on Jan. 14, 2011

I agree on the congratulations and wonder why this story doesn't have a lot more rep points in honor of a job well done. This kid (I use this as a term of endearment) saved a Brother!
